Subsidy & Benefits
Under the scheme, the government provides a subsidy of up to ₹78,000 for installing rooftop solar systems, depending on the system size. For example, 1 kW system can earn a subsidy of ₹30,000–₹38,000. Families will also benefit from reduced electricity bills, long-term savings, and green energy independence.
How It Works
Interested applicants can register on the official portal pmsuryaghar.gov.in, select an approved vendor, install the system, and apply for subsidy online. The subsidy is directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account after DISCOM approval. The installed system supports net metering, allowing users to sell excess power back to the grid.
